Choosing the Right Attorney May Be the Most Important Decision That You’ll Ever Make for Yourself and Your Family
No one ever wants to need an attorney. But, if you or someone in your family has been seriously injured or killed because of the carelessness or negligence of another person or company, choosing the right attorney may be the most important decision that you ever make for yourself and your family.
Unfortunately, most people have no idea how to choose the right lawyer for a serious injury or wrongful death case. These types of cases are very significant because the outcome of the case can affect the medical care that the injured person receives and the financial future of your family for the rest of their lives.
Choosing the Right Attorney – one that is experienced and highly successful in obtaining results for his or her clients – is one of the most critical factors in determining the outcome of a serious injury or wrongful death case. Most lawyers know this, but most non-lawyers do not.
The Top 5 Things You Need to Know to Protect Your Family If a Serious Car Accident or 18-Wheeler Truck Crash Happens
On Thursday, February 16th in Waco, there were multiple wrecks on Interstate 35 involving cars and an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck. Several people were injured and, according to police, one person was killed.
None of us want to believe that this could ever happen to us or our family. Unfortunately, serious wrecks happen every day all over the country. In our over 30 years of experience representing families who have been involved in major wrecks causing serious injuries or wrongful deaths, we have learned several things that may help you protect your family if you are involved in a serious vehicle crash. Here are the top five things you need to know to protect your family if a serious car accident or 18-wheeler truck crash happens:
1. Call 911 and Get Medical Help for Everyone Involved in the Wreck
If you are able to move without injuring yourself or anyone else, check to make sure that others who were involved in the accident are okay. If someone is unconscious or complaining of inability to move or neck or back pain, it is better not to move that person until qualified medical personnel get to the scene.
Open heart surgery is a time when a patient’s health is particularly vulnerable. Operating room staff has to pay extra attention to maintaining the patient’s vital signs while procedures are taking place. Part of this process involves controlling the patient’s body temperature throughout the operation. This is accomplished by the use of heater-cooler devices. This month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an alert stating that a popular model of heater-cooler device may have been contaminated by bacteria during the manufacturing process.
What is Quadriplegia?
Quadriplegia is paralysis or inability to move all four limbs (arms and legs) as well as the patient’s torso. Quadriplegia also affects the person’s ability to feel his or her extremities.
What Causes Quadriplegia?
Quadriplegia is commonly caused by injury or trauma to the spinal cord as a result of a serious accident such a motor vehicle crash, a traumatic fall, or other type of traumatic injury. Quadriplegia can also be caused by other things as well, including stroke or other medical conditions such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis or Lou-Gehrig’s disease (ALS). Read the rest »
